The Beginning<\/h6>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tLa Finca is the result of a journey my wife Patricia and I started over ten years ago. Beginning in Frisco, TX and continued in Manzanillo, Colima, Mexico, eventually bringing us back full-circle. During this time, we developed a passion for forging relationships and building a community centered around great coffee and food.\n\nOur journey into the world of coffee began with our church home group, where we discovered that grabbing a cup of coffee could bring people together in a meaningful way. Soon after, coffee shops became a place for us to meet with others and further enrich our friendships. Coffee eventually found its way into our home, where brewing a pot first thing in the morning became a sort of ritual for us.\n\nAround the same time, I began to consider a career change. While working at Frito Lay\/PepsiCo in a finance position, the spirit of entrepreneurship began to stir in me due in large part to the office culture of creativity and innovation. My time there served to provide me the tools I would need to take a big leap forward in life. After several years of participating in volunteer work in Manzanillo, Colima, Mexico, a port city on the pacific coast, In January 2010, we had the opportunity to move there as full-time missionaries.\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tAfter spending a significant amount of time working in the city\u2019s neighborhoods, we began to brainstorm new ways to serve our community. That in addition to a longing for great coffee, led us to open a coffee shop in the heart of our community.\n\nThrough some mutual acquaintances, we met Tom and Heidi, the founders and owners of Looney Bean in Mazatl\u00e1n, Sinaloa, Mexico. There we were able to learn from them through hands-on training and sound advice, they helped put us on the path to opening our coffee shop. Tom\u2019s work at Looney Bean inspired me to consider roasting coffee as a major part of our business.\n\nOur very first coffee shop \u201cCaf\u00e9 Bean\u201d opened its doors in December 2012. Caf\u00e9 Bean began as a coffee shop with a small food and dessert menu. A few months after opening, our supplier of desserts was no longer able to continue to supply us. Patricia stepped in and began production of the desserts we were previously purchasing. Each year our bakery offerings continued to expand as the business continued to grow. This was the beginning of what would become a full bakery offering.\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The Roastery & Kitchen<\/h6>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

At the same time, Tom\u2019s advice to roast coffee kept echoing in my mind. In October of 2013, ten months after opening our coffee shop, we purchased a coffee roaster and made the transition to roasting our coffee in-house. The transition to becoming a roaster has shaped our identity and purpose. We became more informed of the coffee process and the people who contribute to the coffee we can enjoy each day.<\/p>

After 2 \u00bd years of significant growth, we reached another major shift in our business. Our market was seeking a place to not only enjoy great coffee and bakery items but quality food in an inviting atmosphere. This inspired us to begin work on our third major initiative, a full-service kitchen that focused on serving delicious food made from scratch. Within a few months, Caf\u00e9 Bean became one of the highest-rated businesses in the city.<\/p>

From this point on, we continued to evolve and grow in all areas. Our bakery offerings increased year after year, our food menu became an Authentic Mexican Fusion and our coffee transitioned into specialty coffee.<\/p>

During 2019 -2020, we began to build relationships with Cafeologia in San Cristobal de las Casas, Chiapas. This was the beginning of our passion for relational coffee. Relational coffee is the concept of working closely with persons in producing countries that are impacting the coffee industry through innovation, preservation, and fair compensation for all involved in the coffee trade. We are committed to partnering with those who are solving the present issues in the coffee world.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\tIn late 2018 and early 2019, several events took place that led us to return to Frisco. In less than five months, an offer was made, and the deal closed to purchase our coffee shop in Mexico. We placed our home for sale and closed on the sale. After 9 \u00bd years, we were back in Frisco near our family and friends.\n\nAll of these milestones have been the building blocks of La Finca Coffee & Bakery. When we returned to Frisco, we believed that the Frisco Rail District was the right place for La Finca. We wanted to play our part in the revitalization of the area and bring a new experience to Frisco.\n\nWe invite you to experience La Finca!
